Welcome to the DreamForge

New
I've added a new page: 'Progress/Updates', where I'll post information about what story/stories I'm working on, ETA's for stories, and other info that seems relevant.
Also, my email has changed, and I've not yet gotten around to changing the links here on the site. Feedback (or complaints, or whatever) can be reach me at Etaukan@Gmail.com

Okay, people, you seem to have forgotten that I am needy and insecure.
If I post a chapter, and absolutely no one seems to notice or care, then it's much harder for me to muster the enthusiasm to post the next chapter. So if you read something, and like it, then please let me know.
Or, alternatively, if you read something and didn't like it, take a minute and tell me what didn't work for you, and I'll keep it in mind for the next bit.
But, if no one says anything, then I'll just hide my head under my pillow (more than I already do) or sit at the window and stare out at the rain, or sit in my house alone and play through KOTOR again....

My Buffy/Faith-verse stories, in chronological order

'Sometimes a girl's gotta get out on her own'<br>Cover art by the Omnitalented Miss Shuvcat "Walking About"
(57,000 word Novella)
Mere weeks after her arrival in Sunnydale, an angry and confused Faith skips town. Soon, however, her aimless 'walkabout' turns into something more serious than she would have dreamed possible; a quest for her place in the world, and a chance to save that very world... and not as one of Buffy's sidekicks.

"Gifts Discarded"
(1,629 word short story)
A very short Faith story I wrote in a fit of anger and depression. It works within the framework of my 'Faithverse, though; as a prequel of sorts to 'Ninety-Six Days'.

"Ninety-Six Days"
(Work in Progress) (Five Chapters [so far] totalling 35,000 words)
These stories focus on Faith's activities during the ninety-six days between 'Consequences' and the end of Season Three. She saw things, did things during that time that we never knew of... until now. Come and take a look; it'll be quite a ride.

"A Thing of Terrible Beauty"
(A Novel in progress, currently 173,000 words)
During the summer after the Season Three finale, Buffy faces new foes, and her friends face the realization that something is very wrong with their Slayer....
Still in progress, this is my other epic Fanfic novel, which I hope to finish up soon.
(My definition of 'soon' is not that of your people, unfortunately)
Many of you (and you most definately know who you are) have been very patient with me on this one, and it's time you got an ending.
While I'm working on the final chapters, go and read the several hundred pages I've got so far (or just go and check out the gorgeous cover art by Denise)

"Interludes"
(Novella, 50,000 words)
Set during Faith's coma, it shows that she managed to do more than just lie there during those eight months. (Prequel to 'Of Things That Are Not...')

"Of Things That Are Not..."
(Novella, 24,000 words)
A Christmas story, featuring Buffy and Faith, set during Season Four.
Wait a minute; wasn't Faith in a coma then? Hmm... something odd must be happening. Join Buffy as she tries to figure out what the hell is going on in Sunnydale.
(Continuing the storyline from 'Interludes')

"Virtue of a Warrior"
(Novel [A BIG Novel], 235,000 words)
Faith faces her greatest test; and she faces it alone.
No Buffy to love/hate, no Mayor to take care of her, no vampires to slay.
In the bloody streets of a city engulfed in shadow, the Dark Slayer will make choices whose effects will echo through the ages.

"Soak up the sun"
(10,000 word Short Story)
A small story, describing Faith's quiet day spent relaxing on the beach. No world-shaking threats or pulse-pounding action scenes here, I'm afraid, just a little good, clean fun.

'Bedtime Story'<br>Cover art by the Omnitalented Miss Shuvcat "Faith and Buffy's Super-Happy-Ending Bedtime Story"(Work in Progress)
(An Epic love story spanning several books, currently totaling 92,000 words)
Sometime after 'Virtue of a Warrior', Faith stops to reflect on the past. What passed between Buffy and herself can never be changed, but what if things had happened differently?
Could their story have been a happy one? Could the two Slayers, with so much in common and so much more trying to hold them apart, have even known something as elusive as love?
Maybe. Come and listen as she tries to explain how it should have happened.

Stand-Alone Stories

[Parallels]:"That's Just Like You"
6,500 word Short Story (Fluff!)
In an alternate timeline, eight years have passed since Buffy graduated from Sunnydale High.
Today, she and Faith are doing dinner and a movie, and having a conversation in between....

"A Drop in the Ocean"
(14,000 word Short Story)
Wesley has heard some things, but he's not ready to buy into everything he's told. Illyria is learning a lot of things in her first days back among the living, and is even willing to refrain from killing humans unless they really have it coming. Both of them discover something surprising, something that they'd thought was lost forever.
(My first try at an Illyria story, folks!)

"As I once was"
(Short Story in progress)
Illyria thought she was strong enough to survive being reborn within a human shell, but now she has suffered a second loss. With her powers sharply reduced she now try do deal with the humans and halfbreeds that infest her former kingdom. The most interesting of the sub-beings, the one called Wesley, is actually somewhat less tiresome than the others. Of course, even he cannot comprehend what she truly is, and what secrets a fallen goddess might still hold....

"Tearing the Veil"
(Novella, 24,000 words)
In the mood for a halloween story?
This is the tale of Faith's Season Three adventures during that strangest of nights, and a pretty nifty little yarn for any season, (At least, I think so).

Here's a very short, very fluffy bit of Fuffy (Faith/Buffy) fic called Just Like Us
(No, I never actually saw 'The Brothers Grimm', but the preview told me all I need to know, and it inspired this story)

Original (that is, non-fanfic) Fiction
Unfortunately for you, reader-folk, these are my first, and not entirely successful efforts at original fic, so... well, you'll see.

"We do what we are"
(Work in Progress, 6,700 words so far)
Is there magic in the world?
Are there things that lurk at the edges of our everyday lives that we never see, never suspect?
Do some of those things look at us with wonder, and envy us our mundane lives?

"A Lady so fair"
(Short Story: 14,600 words)

The proliferation of science and technology in our world doesn't preclude the presence of magic. Recognizing that, and accepting it, is the first step in a woman's journey of discovery.

"The Winds of Autumn"
(Novella: 24,000 words)

A young woman experiences a crisis of faith, and another woman rediscovers her role in a changed (and changing) world.

"Maya: Life and Times"
(?)

Not a story at all, really, just me screwing around. Ever play a game called 'ShadowRun'?
